Dear all,
whether the element 43 can be used for plate case??
I try to do in the case of 2-dimensional input as described in the manual feap 8.4 with element 43, but feap not want to work, what should I do???
Thanks

Hi,
I recommend you to post your input file.
I am afraid you are referring a wrong manual to define the problem. The definition of the geometry is a bit different in NURBFEAP from that in a standard FEAP input. There must be an IGA manual for you to follow.

The DSG element is a straight simple beam element -- it does not do plates.

To Prof. R. L. Taylor
what kind of elements can be used to plates, Prof??
now, i'm working on my thesis. i take the topic of isogeometric for plates with FEAP. but i'm confused what elements can be used to plate in FEAP..
Thank you for your attention Prof..

Maybe elmt05.f or the shell element will do what you want. But the nurbfeap elements are only frameworks for you to do additional development. The DSG element in particular is not an element you should try to use without additional developments.

Hi,
I have looked at your input file and slightly modified the way it gives the material parameters. Since it is a frame element, you should input it as frame element inputs.
This time it gives the results. I have not checked the results if they reasonable though...
But as Prof. Taylor says, they will not really help you with the shell elements. They are just straight frames.
