Title: Problem in "include" command. Analysis fails to start (SOLVED)
Post by: shreeram111 on May 07, 2019, 09:15:15 AM
Hello all,

I am a newbie to FEAP. I have been facing some issues with the include command with which I define my mesh.
I use a different software to model my geometry and use a self-written python script to generate the ".msh" file in the appropriate format.
Below, I have attached 2 files of which "TensileTest.msh" works and "TensileCoarse.msh" does not.
Both of them were created in the same way as described above. The only difference being that the second one has fewer elements (and hence coarse). I really fail to see my issue here.

Also, should I use the command COORdinates (or ELEMents) with  ALL or not. As per the manual, I have been using COORdinates ALL. For some cases, I had an error where FEAP was expecting a numeric character and removing the trailing ALL in those cases helped.

I am looking forward to your inputs.

Thank you in advance!
Shree

I think currently include filenames are limited to 15 characters.  I dropped the .msh from the file name and it reads fine

Dear Professor,

Thank you so much for your quick reply. It was dumb of me to have missed that point  :(

Wish you a nice day ahead!
