Title: FEAP 8.6 ParaView Functionality
Post by: gcongdon on June 20, 2022, 01:36:26 PM
Hello All,

I am currently using FEAP 8.4 with a mix of native and user defined elements for 3D mechanical analysis. I would like to incorporate post-processing in ParaView into my current analysis workflow. My first step in doing this was to build FEAP with umacr9.f from http://faculty.ce.berkeley.edu/sanjay/FEAP/umacr9_parav.f (http://faculty.ce.berkeley.edu/sanjay/FEAP/umacr9_parav.f). I am currently experimenting with this, but I noticed recently that FEAP 8.6 has the PVIEW keyword built into the main program.

What are the differences, if any, between using the provided umacr9.f w/ FEAP 8.4 and the PVIEW keyword native to 8.6? In addition, am I able to pass history variable data to ParaView? For example, could I pass a specific data point ( hr(nh2+33) ) for all elements in MATErial,2?

Regards,
G.C.

The umacr9 for version 8.4 is pretty basic and I don't think it has history plots.  PVIEw does have that feature but you could add it with a bit of effort chasing down the arrays.
