Currently doing an analysis of a elastic plate with a circular hole under uniaxial tension. When I use the CSURface command to specify the traction boundary condition together with a mesh involving quadratic elements (6-node triangle or 9-node Lagrangian Elements) the resulting equivalent nodal forces are only applied to the corner nodes, and not to the mid-side nodes. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

FEAPpv does not support this option. You will need to write your own routine to compute the loads. FEAP does support additional options for CSURf

Just as a follow up, I did try using the CSURface command for 9-node quadrilaterals, and it did give the correct equivalent nodal loads even for the mid-side node. I have not yet tried using CSURface for 8-node elements. It is only when I use the 6-node triangular elements that I do not get the correct load using the CSURface command. Maybe this might be of help to people using FEAPpv.
