Contact geometry specification

Dear Admin,

I am quite new to FEAP and I have been trying to formulate different contact geometry but I have been facing some difficulties. I have attached a simple quarter sym of a cylinder on cylinder. I have not been able to identify why the problem is not solving.

Please how do I convert Gmsh file to FEAP. I have created some geometries in Gmsh and would love to convert it to FEAP.

I need an urgent help on this.

The contact surface has been defined for a smaller mesh to help debug things.  Many statements in contact were removed so may need to be reinserted for friciton, etc.

Thank you very much for your timely response Prof. Here are my comments.
1) Material 2 still seems to deform even thought E is set to be very high which should make it an infinitely high stiffness(Rigid).
2) Increasing the mesh density also gave an inconsistent deformation (attached image). Is there a special way to mesh the slave surface? Increasing the mesh density with same number of n leads to the deformation image attached.

You should be able to specify the body as RIGId and also use a RIGId contact surface. Indeed if one body is rigid you do not need it and can use a line element to attach the rigid contact surface.

Solution of contact problems can be delicate.
