contact problem for large problem
« on: January 25, 2017, 09:47:20 AM »
Dear All,

I am solving contact problem with a great number of meshes.  iter, bpcg and dire, spar are not working.
For this problem, on only can use pardiso solver or other solutions? Thank you.

Hi,

I don't think, the reason is pardiso (1 cpu -> 2 cpus? or 4 cpus?), if you can upload the test input file,  maybe we can find the errors.

The other way is to test your contact problem in Abaqus (explicit/implicit)/RADIOSS/LS-dyna where, when you create a job you can specify the number of parallel solvers.

Can you tell us how you are specifying the contact solution: penalty or Lagrange multiplier?  Is it 2 or 3 d?  What are properties of bodies on slave and master sides? Finite deformation?

Dear Prof. Taylor,
It is 3d penalty. I attached the input file. Thank you.
