Matlab interface to FEAP
« on: April 11, 2013, 01:29:30 PM »
Hello,
It is mentioned on the FEAP webpage that Matlab interface to FEAP is standard for versions 8.1 and later. If this is possible then how can one enable the interface? I would like to be able to carry out solutions in Matlab, as it gives more flexibility in handling nonlinear and transient solutions. I know that there is MATFEAP but that implementation seems to be only for windows. Also how can one direct the output of displacements, stresses, etc to separate file rather than the standard ofilename.dat file
Thanks.

The MATLAB interface to FEAP was created by a 3rd party.  It is not part of the FEAP release; it is an "add-on".

Thanks for your reply.

Is it possible to output the formed finite element matrices  (force, displacement and stiffness) to a separate text file, other than the ofilename.dat file?
Thanks

Please see the command OUTPut described in chapter 14 of the manual.  (quite remark, if you want the unfactorized tangent then form it with TANGent,,-1).

Thanks, Matlab is such a nightmare sometimes.
