applying dead load
« on: April 16, 2013, 11:48:22 AM »
I am new user with FEAP.

I have modelized a plate simply supported with a force concentarted at a node.

I woul like to run 2 static load steps:

The first one with dead load,
The second one with the applied force

The run is OK for the applied force, but I have no succes with the dead load.
I do not understand how to apply the dead load ??

Can any one help me ? with a very simple example ?
regards.

You should specify two proportional loads: one that is just a constant value for all times (load steps) -- or linearly increased during the dead load steps and then constant if convergence is difficult -- of the analysis.  The second should be zero while you apply the dead load, and then vary as you wish for the live load.

Read manual on PROP types 2.

Associate each proportional load to the appropriate one.

It is rather complex for me: a beginner.
Do you have a sample ?
