Free oscillation analysis of a Beam
« on: October 13, 2015, 11:50:04 AM »
Dear all,
I am new to FEAP and this forum as well. I want to perform a free oscillation analysis of a beam, which is fixed at one end and free at the other.
I want to specify an initial displacement at the start of the transient analysis and let the beam oscillate freely as the time proceeds.
Can someone help me

Regards,
Ali

this is possible

1. you do the static analysis for the beam with the end displacement specified and its degree of freedom fixed

2. you use the solution command MESH and remove the boundary restraint for the fixed dof

3. do the transient analysis using any of the time integrators
