Spherical arc-length method in FEAP?

Dear FEAP experts,

In the attached files you can find a 2D truss buckling example with 2 bars. This example could be found in many literatures.
With arc,,2 (normal plane method?) it works not very well for the setting (length, force, etc). So I did some modification and investigated the original spherical arc-length method of ‎Crisfield, and it work much better.

The problem is that, my modification is not that reliable. (There still might be some errors.)

So my question is,
1.) Is there any standard FEAP option to active the spherical arclength method?
2.) If not, could you help me to check my modification?
(Actually in a separate file "arclen1.f", activated through the option arcl,,7, which is an additional option)

FEAP does not have the spherical option now.

If you post your file (or attach to an e-mail to feap@berkeleye.edu)  I can try to assist your implementation - also sending a description or reference source for the Crisfield spherical method would avoid my having to find it.
