kindly I have a question about which (number) version of PETSc shall we use for the installation of Parfeap 8.5, now I am using GNU Compiler?

You should be ok with 3.7.x
I have made the corrections for 3.8.x but have not released a patch.

[Correction: there is a 3.8.x patch posted on the download site, the 3.9.x patch has not yet been released.]
